It can be said that no plugins, your WordPress isn’t complete yet. There are over 50,000+ WordPress plugins that you can choose from and WordPress’s compatible range almost can satisfy most of the people needed, that’s what people want.

However, find out, filter, and select the best plugins for you are the time and energy-consuming things, especially for the newbie. Therefore, read other people’s reviews and recommendations about the plugins will be the better choice for you.

We will recommend some plugins that most of the people will use, hope it can help you save time.

1. SEO

SEO (search engine optimization) is a marketing strategy that considers how search engines work, it helps to improve the website’s organic traffic (unpaid traffic) and visibility (ranking) to a website from search engines.

You can find out many SEO plugins at WordPress, the most popular one is YOAST which SEO plugin I used too. The SEO plugin can’t help you auto-optimization and rank high by itself, it like a guideline give you SEO tips, and leading you to write better SEO content.

For normal use, the YOAST free version is enough for most people, if you have enough budget you can try their pro version. Of course, I recommend you use a paid SEO tool outside WordPress, it’s more powerful than you imagine, but the price expensive than YOAST pro.

2. Cache and Performance Optimization

The plugins can speeds up your website by the system cache, optimizing JS, CSS, images (incl. lazyload), HTML and Google Fonts, syncing JS, removing emoji craft, and more.

Different cache and performance optimization plugins have their own features. If you are the Siteground user, you can use the free plugin called SG Optimizer, it provides many functions that other cache and performance optimization plugins only provided on the Pro (paid) version.

For other web hosting users, I recommend the WP Fastest Cache plugin, it’s free version better than other plugins, then the Pro version cheaper than other plugins, you can use forever for once you paid ($49.99). Compared to others plugins, in order to the maximum benefit, they provide a monthly plan, the cheapest one I saw like $5+ monthly.

3. XML Sitemap

XML sitemaps absolutely good for SEO, as they allow search engine crawlers such as Google to quickly find your essential website pages and new pages, then crawl them to make people can find them on the search engine, even if your internal linking isn’t perfect.

For the new version of WordPress, it finally released an XML sitemap function, however, its XML sitemap function not that good as my expectations. You can install YOAST or Google XML sitemap to alternative it.

I’m using YOAST for SEO, but not using their sitemap function because their sitemap function crawl and re-crawl too slow even not updated (maybe YOAST pro working so good). Instead, the Google XML Sitemap is awesome, detail, fast crawl and re-crawl my websites every 2-3 days.

The free version of Elementor maybe lacks some function such as CSS/HTML editor. If you only use the free version, it’s not that good for long time use. The Pro version absolutely worth that price, I suggest you buy it if you have a budget, especially for a newbie.
